OVERVIEW

The Honda Civic CTR is a capable track car in factory format, when coupled with aerodynamic components it becomes even more potent. While analyzing the car for our own development and developing our rear wings, we found detached flow on the rear glass. Detached flow in this area increased drag and due to the location of the rear wings, reduces flow to the underside of the rear wing as well reducing efficiency. We designed and developed the vortex generators to improve *overall* vehicle efficiency by promoting attached flow in this area of the vehicle.

By adding our vortex generators, your Honda Civic CTR will benefit from improved aerodynamic efficiency.

These units are produced from 2x2 twill carbon fiber and install within 30 minutes with double-sided tape.

Science:

The vortex generators decreases drag and increases downforce generated by the UCW and P10 rear wing on the FK8 Civic Type R. Coupled with the rest of our Ventus packages, the vortex generators make a more efficient and well balanced CTR. We specifically targeted improving flow on the rear glass which in turn, allows the UCW and P10 rear wing to work better and improves the wake region of this car. This reduces drag and improves downforce.

Follow along as Eric from Verus Engineering briefly discusses the proper applications of Vortex Generators. In this video we address how we use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to strategically place our Vortex Generators to get the most out of the aerodynamics of your car.

The vortex generators decreases drag and increases downforce generated by the UCW rear wing on the M2. Coupled with the rest of our Ventus 2 package, the vortex generators make a more efficient and well balanced BMW M2. We specifically targeted improving flow on the rear glass which in turn, allows the UCW rear wing to work better and fills in the wake region of the car better. This reduces drag and improved downforce.
